Potpora kluba “LegalTheory” sa Sveučilišta u Sofiji, Bugarska
I speak on behalf of my student organization as its president and express not only my personal disagreement with this act but also the disagreement of all its members.
Education in Bulgarian state universities is FREE.
There are various reasons behind this FREE education. Education is important for a society to move forward. Not everybody can afford studying at a university since being already an adult requires numerous expenses for your basic living. Thus, many people will not have the option called EDUCATION.
Under Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations “everyone has the right to FREE education and the right to equality of opportunity for any form of education involving restricted enrollment.”
How free would the Croatian education be if high fees are introduced?
How equal are the people trying to pursue a career but have not had the chance to afford to receive a proper education?
How will young people in Croatia prefer their national expensive state universities over a free education in another country?
These and many other questions are being posed and I only hope that they will find their answers from which the Croatian students will benefit.
Education needs to be FREE, especially in a country like Croatia which is going through a transitional period.
We, the members of the LegalTheory Club, can fully understand the absurdity of the commercialization of the Croatian education and hope that this will only remain a misunderstanding which will soon be forgotten.
We would like to express our disagreement with the act of the Croatian government to make education paid and we give our support to all Croatian students and university staff.
